The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Germany has risen to 222.7. Within 24 hours, 13,908 new infections with the corona virus were recorded, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported Monday morning. In addition, 69 more people died after a corona infection.
The RKI pointed out that because of the Christmas holidays, fewer people got tested and not all health offices forwarded data. The actual numbers could therefore be higher.
Since the start of the pandemic, public health departments in Germany reported 7,005,289 Corona infections. The total number of corona deaths is 110,433, and the Institute put the number of people recovered from corona virus illness in Germany at about 6,156,500.
In November, the federal and state governments set the so-called hospitalization incidence as the decisive yardstick for tightening the corona measures. This value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants are hospitalized within seven days due to a Corona infection. According to the most recent report on Thursday, the hospitalization incidence was 4.55 nationwide, according to the RKI.
Above a value of three, the 2G rule applies to events nationwide. Only those vaccinated against the coronavirus and those recovered from Covid-19 are admitted.
